Abstract

It is shown that in the N = 4 super Yang-Mills theory which contains finiteness preserving explicit supersymmetry breaking mass terms for scalars and fermions, the mass spectrum of the particles that results after tree-level spontaneous symmetry breaking satisfies the mass-squared sum rule ∑ J=0, 1 2 ,1 (−1) 2J+1(2J+1)m J 2 = 0 .
