Abstract

The area contains evidence for an unusually complete sequence from granodiorite intrusion followed by pegmatite emplacement, to high temperature quartz veining and, finally to low temperature carbonate mineralization. At the Lacorne mine, molybdenite and Bi occur in economic quantities along with other less common minerals: chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, bismuthinite, beryl, and tourmaline.
