Abstract
It is significant to fabricate lasting self-healing polymers to repair product mechanical damage in industries. In this letter, a novel self-healing rubber composite is prepared by introducing Zn2+-polyphenol complex and proton donors of diethylene glycol (DEG). The rubber composite exhibits high ductility of beyond 500 %, good reprocessable, simply reshaping and a fast heating-triggered self-healing property with 90 % healing efficiency. More importantly, it sustains the long-lived self-healing capability after being thermally aged.
