Abstract
Abstract A back-angle light-scatter aerosol monitor is described which combines a light source and photocell in a cylindrical container. The unit may be inserted into an aerosol test chamber through a single hole. Sensitivity and recorded decay rate were found to be equivalent to results obtained with right-angle units, but the background light level may be high if the aerosol chamber is small or is not blackened on the inside.
