Abstract

ABSTRACTA small, gas‐fired, laboratory kiln is described capable of firing or melting refractory materials up to 1850°C (cone 38). It is pointed out that the flame temperatures reached approach the theoretical values computed from the heat of combustion and the specific heat of the products of combustion.
