Abstract

A multicomponent plasma, where particle interactions and quiver motion due to an oscillating electric field take place at the same time, has been studied. The model may simulate collisional effects of an electromagnetic wave penetrating a plasma. Sets of BBGKY-equations are solved, and an equation describing particle-particle and particle-particle-wave interactions has been derived. The effects of quiver motion on collisional transfer processes between particles and the plasma-wave interaction process are discussed. Under certain circumstances the effects may be substantial.
