Abstract

As there is an enormous development and escalation in the field of computing technologies for the biometric based systems. Hence, they have become more convenient to be embedded to a variety of devices and also they are affordable to a very less cost and are used in daily life say, laptops, mobiles, key pads, palmtops and etc., and hence allowing these technologies and devices susceptible to malicious design of hackers and attackers. To avoid and protected any imminent security predicament, vulnerabilities to biometric-based authentication systems must be recognized and represented significantly. As biometric system relies on the unique features, these systems can be secured by means of protecting the features stored in the template database. Hence template protection is one of the mean to secure the biometric system. Biometric template security is one of the most critical issues in designing a secure biometric authentication system and it requires timely and scrupulous attention. In this paper we propose a hybrid technique which is combination of template transformation and crypto biometric. The proposed system is experimented with fingerprint database and the experimental results have shown that hybrid of these two techniques provide better security.
