Abstract

Abstract A basic design principle is described of the high-resolving on-line isotope separator in the Japanese Hadron Project. For this application the sector magnet of the separator is split in two parts, thus allowing the vertical focusing in the magnet fringing fields to be distributed to four field boundaries.
