Abstract

The calculation of design reliability of developing technical systems using failures caused by deterioration and wear, called gradual failures, is considered. The novelty of the present paper consists in using a mathematical model based on the Weibull distribution law, which describes the reliability of an item based on deterioration of materials and element base as well as the wear of mechanisms at the parameter of the distribution curve shape α > 1 to calculate reliability of the gradual failures. The law was confirmed by the results of long-standing operation of complex technical systems. A mathematical model of calculating design reliability of an item for deterioration of materials and element base as well as wear of mechanisms is given for the normal distribution law.
