Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of the projects schedule in civil engineering companies from Caruaru, from the PMBOK assumptions, focusing on the development and monitoring schedule. To support the study, was made a review on projects, project management, management and development methodology and monitoring schedule. To perform the study was developed a descriptive and explanatory research with quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 44 respondents and the survey questionnaire was developed with primary basis in the PMBOK (2008) and other authors in the field. The completion of data collection was through the use of structured surveys questionnaires, with adapted percentage of Likert scale. The analysis and the diagnosis of the figures were made from the development of the multiple linear regression method, using the statistical program STATISTICA 8. The generated model explains 72% of the development process and monitoring the schedule of projects in the surveyed companies and can be explained by the three independent variables generated: Description of Project Delivery; Activity durations developed from specific techniques; and monitoring the progress of the scope and schedule with analysis of variance.
