Abstract
A fluorite vacuum monochromator and auxiliary apparatus for the study of photochemical reactions in the region 1300–1900A are described. Lines in the nitrogen arc spectrum were isolated in as high as 85 percent purity. Estimates from three sources give intensities of the order of 1×1013 quanta per second for the 1742–45A doublet.
