Abstract

A low-profile, ultra-wideband (UWB), end-fire scanning phased array is proposed in this paper. The array consists of four log-periodic monopole array antennas (LPMAs) and is flush-mounted in a shallow cavity to further reduce the array height. Simulated results show an operating frequency band from 1.0 to 3.0 GHz and end-fire radiation patterns with ±45° scanning performance in horizontal planes, demonstrating that the proposed end-fire array is suitable for low-profile, conformal applications with satisfactory scanning performance.
