Abstract

To solve the problems of fault line selection in resonant grounding system, a novel fault line selection method for distribution network was proposed in this paper. This method based on transient zero-mode differential current and signal distance algorithm. Firstly, the transient zero-mode differential current is proposed to distinguish between bus fault and branch fault by the zero-mode network analysis of single-phase grounded transient zero-mode current characteristics. Then, based on the signal distance algorithm, the fault line selection vector is constructed to determine the fault branch. The fault line is determined by the minimum element. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed method is not affected by fault initial angle, fault resistance and network structure, which improves the accuracy of fault line selection.
