Abstract
O objetivo deste artigo é discutir as estratégias de dissimulação, ou seja, de disfarce da natureza ficcional do texto literário nos contos de horror de Machado de Assis. O artigo analisa o suspense provocado pelos diferentes recursos narrativos e representações da narração que caracterizam os modos de produção do medo na obra do escritor.
