AbstractAn oil‐water flow‐transport problem in a heterogeneous porous medium (HPM), given by the Brinkman model coupled with a fractional flow formulation, is solved numerically by a discontinuous finite volume element (DFVE) method coupled with a Runge‐Kutta Discontinuous Galerkin (RKDG) scheme.
