Abstract
Nostra Aetate, a Declaração sobre as Relações da Igreja com as Religiões Não-Cristãs, foi solenemente votada e aprovada pelos Bispos doConcílio Vaticano II, em 28 de Outubro de l965. Este resultado foi talvez uma surpresa. Depois do Beato João XXIII ter convocado o Concílio, foi mandado um questionário preparatório às Igrejas locais, mas poucos bispos mencionaram em suas respostas o tema das outras religiões, e nenhum esquema provisório foi preparado sobre este assunto.
