Over the past decade, the proliferation of digital platforms has significantly transformed the landscape of Islamic preaching, giving rise to what is now widely referred to as Digital Da’wah. Despite existing studies on content and communication strategies, few have systematically mapped the global scholarly trends in Digital Da’wah. This study addresses that gap through a comprehensive bibliometric review. It presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global scholarly output on Digital Da’wah between 2013 and 2025, aiming to identify research trends, influential authors, collaborative networks, and thematic evolution within the field. Utilizing data from the Scopus database, the analysis employs tools such as Biblioshiny and the R programme to generate visual mappings of keyword co-occurrence, citation patterns, and thematic clusters. To interpret thematic shifts, this study employs frameworks from Islamic communication theory and digital sociology, offering insights into how da’wah adapts to digital contexts. The results reveal a steady increase in scholarly attention toward topics such as social media da’wah, digital Islamic communication, online religious authority, and youth engagement in Islamic content. Additionally, the study uncovers the geographical distribution of publications, with significant contributions from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Western academia. Thematic evolution analysis indicates a shift from early focus on content production and media ethics to recent concerns about algorithmic visibility, digital literacy, and da’wah effectiveness in virtual spaces. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how Digital Da’wah has evolved as an academic field and offers insights for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers involved in Islamic communication and media studies. Dalam satu dekade terakhir, perubahan platform digital telah secara signifikan mengubah lanskap da'wah Islam, yang kini dikenal luas sebagai da'wah Digital. Meskipun sejumlah studi telah membahas konten dan strategi komunikasi dalam da'wah digital, kajian yang secara sistematis memetakan tren keilmuan global dalam bidang ini masih terbatas. Studi ini mengisi kekosongan tersebut melalui tinjauan bibliometrik yang komprehensif. Penelitian ini menganalisis output keilmuan global tentang da'wah Digital pada rentang waktu 2013 hingga 2025, dengan tujuan mengidentifikasi tren penelitian, penulis berpengaruh, jaringan kolaboratif, serta evolusi tematik dalam bidang ini. Data diambil dari basis data Scopus, dan dianalisis menggunakan alat seperti Biblioshiny dan program R untuk menghasilkan pemetaan visual keterkaitan kata kunci, pola sitasi, dan klaster tematik. Untuk menafsirkan pergeseran tematik, studi ini menggunakan kerangka teori komunikasi Islam dan sosiologi digital, guna memahami bagaimana da'wah beradaptasi dalam konteks digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan perhatian akademik terhadap topik seperti da'wah melalui media sosial, komunikasi Islam digital, otoritas keagamaan daring, dan keterlibatan pemuda dalam konten keislaman. Studi ini juga mengungkap distribusi geografis publikasi, dengan kontribusi signifikan dari Asia Tenggara, Timur Tengah, dan kalangan akademik Barat. Analisis evolusi tematik menunjukkan pergeseran dari fokus awal pada produksi konten dan etika media, menuju isu-isu mutakhir seperti visibilitas algoritmik, literasi digital, dan efektivitas da'wah di ruang virtual. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang perkembangan da'wah Digital sebagai bidang kajian akademik serta menawarkan wawasan bagi akademisi, praktisi, dan pembuat kebijakan dalam studi komunikasi dan media Islam.

Global Research Trends in Technology-Enhanced Learning (2020–2024): A Bibliometric Mapping Analysis

This study analyzes global research trends on Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) from 2020 to 2024 using a bibliometric mapping approach. Data were extracted from the Scopus database with the query TITLE-ABS-KEY (“technology-education” AND “learning”), yielding 747 valid documents consisting of journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. The analysis employed Microsoft Excel, VOSviewer, and Biblioshiny to examine publication performance, collaboration networks, and thematic evolution. Results indicate a steady growth of research output, reflecting an increasing global commitment to educational transformation driven by digital innovation and artificial intelligence. The United States, China, and India emerged as the most productive countries, while leading sources such as Computers & Education and Educational Technology Research and Development dominated the publication landscape. Keyword co-occurrence mapping revealed seven thematic clusters, with e-learning, artificial intelligence, digital pedagogy, and STEM education as the most prominent themes. The findings highlight a paradigm shift from emergency remote learning during the pandemic to a sustainable integration of technology into pedagogical design. This study provides a foundational map for researchers and policymakers to navigate the evolving intellectual structure of TEL and highlights underexplored areas such as ethical AI implementation in Global South contexts and the limited empirical evidence on teacher readiness for advanced learning analytics.

Privacy management and the role of instagram reels in da’wah: Insights from Muhammadiyah University Jakarta's students

Purpose - This study aims to investigate the optimization of social media for da'wah among students enrolled in the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting at the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta. Method - Employing qualitative methods, particularly in-depth interviews, this research selects students aged 18–24 within the early adulthood category. Through a comprehensive analysis, it seeks to understand the nuances of privacy management in the process of personal disclosure on Instagram and examines the influence of satire and sarcasm on students' confidence levels. Result - The results of this study reveal that, overall, KPI-UMJ students exhibit effective privacy management during personal disclosure on Instagram. However, the prevalence of satire and sarcasm on the platform negatively impacts the confidence of students in sharing private narratives. Additionally, the research highlights the diverse views and motivations of students in optimizing Instagram for da'wah. Implication – The findings hold implications for both academia and practitioners involved in da'wah efforts on social media. Understanding the impact of satire and sarcasm on student confidence provides insights for educators and policymakers to develop strategies that foster a more conducive environment for private disclosures. Originality - This study contributes to the existing literature by offering nuanced insights into the challenges faced by KPI-UMJ students in optimizing Instagram for da'wah. The study's focus on the diverse motivations and perspectives of students in this context enhances the originality and depth of the research. *** Tujuan - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui optimalisasi media sosial untuk dakwah di kalangan mahasiswa yang terdaftar di Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam di Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta. Metode - Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif, khususnya wawancara mendalam, penelitian ini memilih mahasiswa berusia 18-24 tahun yang termasuk dalam kategori dewasa awal. Melalui analisis yang komprehensif, penelitian ini berusaha untuk memahami nuansa manajemen privasi dalam proses pengungkapan diri di Instagram dan meneliti pengaruh sindiran dan sarkasme terhadap tingkat kepercayaan diri mahasiswa. Hasil - Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa, secara keseluruhan, mahasiswa KPI-UMJ menunjukkan manajemen privasi yang efektif selama pengungkapan diri di Instagram. Namun, prevalensi sindiran dan sarkasme di platform berdampak negatif pada kepercayaan diri mahasiswa dalam berbagi narasi pribadi. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menyoroti beragamnya pandangan dan motivasi mahasiswa dalam mengoptimalkan Instagram untuk dakwah. Implikasi - Temuan penelitian ini memiliki implikasi bagi akademisi dan praktisi yang terlibat dalam upaya dakwah di media sosial. Memahami dampak sindiran dan sarkasme terhadap kepercayaan diri mahasiswa memberikan wawasan bagi para pendidik dan pembuat kebijakan untuk mengembangkan strategi yang mendorong lingkungan yang lebih kondusif untuk pengungkapan pribadi. Orisinalitas/Value - Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada literatur yang ada dengan menawarkan wawasan yang bernuansa tentang tantangan yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa KPI-UMJ dalam mengoptimalkan Instagram untuk dakwah. Fokus penelitian ini pada motivasi dan perspektif mahasiswa yang beragam dalam konteks ini meningkatkan orisinalitas dan kedalaman penelitian.

Global Research Trends and Map on Machine Learning Applications in Stunting Detection in Vulnerable Populations: A Bibliometric Analysis

Stunting and malnutrition continue to be significant public health challenges, particularly in low-income and rural populations. With the growing reliance on data-driven strategies in public health, machine learning (ML) has emerged as a promising tool for identifying, classifying, and predicting conditions related to undernutrition. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of global research from 2019 to 2025, focusing on the application of ML techniques—such as clustering, support vector machines (SVM), and random forest—in addressing malnutrition and stunting. A total of 417 Scopus-indexed publications were analyzed using Biblioshiny (R) to assess research trends, key themes, influential authors, prominent journals, and thematic evolution. The analysis reveals a consistent growth rate of 10.72% in publications, with notable contributions from China and other low- and middle-income countries. Keyword mapping highlights that “machine learning,” “spatial analysis,” and “stunting” are central to the research, although they remain areas for further development. Thematic evolution indicates a shift towards more integrated, context-aware approaches, with a growing focus on built environments and vulnerable populations. The study concludes that while ML holds significant promise for advancing decision-making in child health and nutrition, its impact will depend on continued methodological refinement and effective implementation within public health systems.

A bibliometric analysis of surgical treatment for rectal prolapse

Background:Rectal prolapse is a serious disease characterized by the protrusion of rectal tissue through the anal orifice, predominantly affecting elderly women and significantly impairing quality of life. Surgical intervention remains the definitive treatment, yet debates persist regarding optimal techniques, recurrence rates, and functional outcomes. Despite advancements in minimally invasive approaches, a systematic synthesis of global research trends, collaborative networks, and thematic evolution in this field remains unexplored.Objectives:This study aimed to conduct the first bibliometric analysis of surgical treatments for rectal prolapse, mapping global research trends, collaborative networks, and thematic evolution. Key objectives included identifying leading contributors (countries, institutions, and authors), analyzing shifts in surgical techniques, and highlighting gaps in international collaboration and technological integration to guide future research priorities.Methods:A bibliometric analysis was performed using 999 English-language publications from the Web of Science Core Collection (2000–2024). Data were analyzed for annual publication trends, geographic and institutional productivity, citation impact, and co-authorship networks. Keyword clustering and burst detection identified emerging themes and technological shifts, while centrality metrics assessed the influence of countries and institutions.Results:(1) Publication trends: Annual output grew from 24 (2000) to 61 (2024), stabilizing post-2010, suggesting technological maturation. (2) Geographic contributions: The United States dominated with 236 articles (5296 citations) and high centrality. China and Japan produced moderately but exhibited limited global collaboration. (3) Institutional networks: Cleveland Clinic institutions led collaborative networks, while authors like Lindsey and Cunningham drove high-impact research. (4) Thematic clusters: Five themes emerged: surgical strategies (e.g., “ventral mesh rectopexy”), pelvic floor dysfunction, risk mitigation, complication management, and symptom associations. A shift toward minimally invasive techniques was evident. (5) Research gaps: Disparities in international collaboration, institutional influence, and integration of emerging technologies (AI/virtual reality) were identified. Priorities include establishing standardized registries, fostering inclusive consortia, and addressing ethical concerns for novel surgical materials.Conclusion:This study underscores 3 pivotal imperatives for advancing rectal prolapse surgery research: global registries, inclusive consortia, and tech adoption to enhance outcomes.

Halal tourism has grown into one of the fastest-growing sectors of the travel industry worldwide, driven by rising demand for Sharia-compliant services. However, practical challenges persist in the industry, such as inconsistent service implementation, uncertainties in operational costs, and ambiguous international standardization. Our research aims to examine halal tourism using published studies from 2020 to 2025 to provide a comprehensive basis for forming a coherent picture of its evolution. Our research examines halal tourism using published studies from 2020 to 2025 to provide a comprehensive overview of its development. In this quantitative study, we utilized a bibliometric analysis approach. We retrieved data from the Scopus database and analyzed them using the Biblioshiny R module to explore publication trends, citation patterns, influential authors, journals, institutions, and country contributions. We also applied a keyword co-occurrence analysis to map the main intellectual and thematic patterns in halal tourism research. The findings demonstrate that Indonesia and Malaysia dominate both publication output and institutional productivity. We found that the Journal of Islamic Marketing is the most frequently cited journal in halal tourism research. The thematic mapping analysis highlights four principal clusters: Muslim consumer behavior and intention; service quality and competitiveness; sustainability and innovation; and governance and certification issues. This study contributes to our integrative understanding of halal tourism scholarship by providing a comprehensive synthesis of performance indicators and thematic evolution. Our findings reveal emerging directions such as digital transformation, halal lifestyle, and international collaboration, each of which is expected to guide future research efforts among scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.

Mapping of Global Research on Climate Change and the Agricultural Sector: A Bibliometric Analysis 2000-2025

This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of global research on climate change and the agricultural sector published between 2000 and 2025, using the Scopus database as the primary data source. A total of publications retrieved through a targeted keyword search were analyzed using VOSviewer to map co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrence, citation patterns, and thematic clusters. The results reveal agriculture as the central conceptual hub, linking critical themes such as food security, agricultural productivity, climate change adaptation, biosafety, public policy, and gender empowerment. Thematic evolution indicates a shift from early biophysical impact assessments toward more integrated approaches that combine technological innovation, governance frameworks, and socio-economic equity considerations. Collaboration network analysis highlights France as a key bridging country connecting European, African, and Latin American research communities. Practical implications include the need to strengthen interdisciplinary integration, foster cross-regional partnerships, and address thematic gaps—particularly in linking social equity with climate adaptation strategies. This study contributes theoretically by clarifying the intellectual structure and research trends of the field, while its methodological approach offers a replicable framework for bibliometric mapping in sustainability-related domains. Limitations include database coverage, keyword constraints, and the inability to assess the qualitative rigor of individual studies. The findings provide an evidence base to inform policy priorities, funding allocation, and future research agendas in building climate-resilient and low-emission agrifood systems.

School-based literacy policy research (2014–2024): global trends, networks, and thematic developments

Despite the increasing global emphasis on literacy education, school-based literacy policies continue to face challenges in their development, implementation, and effectiveness. However, research examining these policies remains fragmented, particularly regarding their thematic evolution and geographic distribution. This study aims to analyze the research trends, thematic developments, and collaboration patterns in school-based literacy policy research from 2014 to 2024 through a bibliometric analysis. Using the Scopus database, 781 research articles were analyzed with VOSviewer and R Bibliometrix to identify citation structures, co-authorship networks, and thematic clusters. The findings reveal four major research clusters: (1) pedagogical approaches and teacher professional development, (2) health and well-being, including mental health literacy, (3) basic literacy skills and language development, and (4) policy implementation and evaluation. Over the past decade, publication output increased from 20 articles in 2014 to over 60 in 2023-2024, reflecting a growing academic interest in school-based literacy policies. The citation analysis shows that highly cited studies often focus on the intersection of literacy, digital transformation, and student well-being, indicating a shift toward a more integrated policy framework. Collaboration analysis highlights strong research networks among institutions in North America and Australia, though representation from developing regions remains limited. These findings provide critical insights for policymakers and educators in designing holistic literacy policies that integrate pedagogy, digital literacy, and mental health considerations. By applying bibliometric methods to literacy policy research, this study offers a novel, data-driven perspective on the field’s evolution and highlights directions for future research.

The The Peruvian Herb with Global Reach: A bibliometric Analysis of Lepidium meyenii (maca) Research from 2013 to 2024

This analysis explored the global research trends of Lepidium meyenii (maca) for the last ten years, using bibliometric methods, and explore international collaborations, the evolution of active topics and emerging trends. We utilised various methodologies on the SCOPUS database such as keyword co-occurrence and co-authorship analysis to identify the most influential authors, institutions, and countries, along with the most cited publications in this field. We used Bibliomagika 2.2 and Bibliomagika 1.5 Split for frequency analysis, as well as VOSviewer for data visualization. We also delved into the co-occurrence of different terms connected to Lepidium meyenii (maca) and author keywords within the specified time period. A total of 313 publications were identified, with the most published in 2022, revealing an upward trend in the past decade. China (223 publications) emerged as the leading country in maca research, and the preeminent journal in this field was identified as Andrologia (15 publications). The analysis of keyword co-occurrence highlighted key thematic clusters, with "Lepidium meyenii (maca)," "herbal medicine," "macamides," "antioxidant," and "medicinal plants" as the most prevalent author keywords. Our findings suggest the global reach of Lepidium meyenii (maca) and offer insights into research patterns, the contributions of different countries, influential authors, and active journals. This data serves as a tool for researchers to identify future directions of research in this field.

Mapping global research landscape and trends in magnetic resonance imaging applications for primary trigeminal neuralgia: a bibliometric analysis.

While magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become indispensable in the clinical management of primary trigeminal neuralgia (PTN), a systematic analysis delineating the intellectual structure and evolving trends in this domain remains lacking. This study aims to map the research landscape through bibliometric analysis to identify developmental trajectory, key hotspots, and global research trends in MRI applications for PTN. We performed a bibliometric analysis of 290 scientific publications from the Web of Science Core Collection (2004-2024). Using VOSviewer and CiteSpace, we examined publication trends, geographic distribution, institutional contributions, collaborative networks, and thematic evolution. Publication output increased significantly since 2019. Although high-income countries (HICs) contributed the majority of publications (56.55%), upper-middle-income countries (UMICs)(particularly China) exhibited the most rapid growth and achieved the highest normalized citation impact (normalized total citations = 1.07). At the individual level, Professor Hodaie M held the highest academic influence (H-index = 6), while the Journal of Neurosurgery ranked first among journals in field-specific impact (H-index = 13). Keyword cluster analysis identified three major research themes: anatomical-surgical correlation, interventional management, and central pain mechanisms. The intellectual focus of the field has evolved from initial structural-anatomical investigations toward image-guided therapeutic applications and advanced studies of whole-brain microstructure, functional changes. MRI research in PTN is transitioning toward multimodal, quantitative, and translational approaches. Future research should prioritize multi-center collaborations, high-field MRI applications, and artificial intelligence-powered analysis to develop imaging biomarkers and personalized therapeutic strategies.

Islamic communication is a comprehensive and ethical framework rooted in the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah, emphasizing truthfulness, wisdom, respect, and responsibility. It plays a crucial role in Da’wah (Islamic preaching), education, interfaith dialogue, media, and digital discourse. As communication methods evolve, Islamic communication must adapt to modern platforms while maintaining its ethical foundations. This study explores the theoretical foundations, methodologies, contemporary applications, and challenges of Islamic communication. It highlights how traditional approaches, such as sermons and direct interpersonal dialogue, have transitioned into digital spaces, including social media, online learning, and global media platforms. While these developments offer new opportunities for outreach and engagement, they also pose challenges such as misinformation, unethical media practices, Islamophobia, and the commercialization of religious content. The research underscores the importance of media literacy, responsible digital engagement, and scholarly participation in ensuring that Islamic communication remains authentic, impactful, and aligned with Islamic ethical values. Furthermore, it presents future directions for strengthening Islamic communication, including the integration of modern technology, youth engagement, and ethical guidelines for digital Da’wah. By examining both traditional and contemporary dimensions, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of Islamic communication and its role in fostering knowledge, unity, and positive social change in an increasingly interconnected world.

This study aims to examine how the Department of Youth and Sports in North Sumatra utilises religious communication to enhance the well-being of young individuals. It contributes to scholarly knowledge by shedding light on the strategies employed by the Department to improve youth quality through Islamic communication. The study employs field methodologies and applies Miles and Huberman's data analysis model. The findings are divided into three key dimensions: 1) Planning Islamic Communication: Analysing the Department's Strategies for Effective Communication in an Islamic Context; 2) Organising and Implementing Islamic Communication: Investigating the Department's Efforts in Organising and Executing Islamic Communication Initiatives Targeting North Sumatra's Youth; and 3) Monitoring and Evaluating Islamic Communication: Assessing the Department's Systematic Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Islamic Communication Strategies in Youth Engagement. Additionally, this study encounters challenges related to technology and semantics. Semantic difficulties arise from varying interpretations and analyses of Islamic communication messages among the youth population, while technical obstacles include concerns regarding infrastructure deficiencies and resource constraints.

This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the intersection between digital literacy and business communication, aiming to map the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and research gaps within this emerging domain. Using data extracted from the Scopus database, a total of 13,126 documents were analyzed through country collaboration networks, keyword co-occurrence visualization, and subject area distribution. The findings reveal that research in this field is globally distributed yet dominated by contributions from developed countries. The subject area analysis demonstrates a strong interdisciplinary orientation, with the Social Sciences and Business, Management, and Accounting fields contributing the majority of publications. Keyword mapping indicates three major thematic clusters: digital literacy in organizational and technological contexts, socio-demographic and health-related dimensions, and external communication functions such as public relations and reputation management. Despite the large body of literature, only six documents were identified as directly addressing both digital literacy and business communication simultaneously, highlighting a significant research gap. This study underscores the need for a more integrated theoretical and empirical approach to understanding how digital literacy shapes communication effectiveness, organizational adaptation, and strategic engagement in digital business environments.

This research aims to explain the knowledge structure, characteristics, and global trends of smart education research from the past to the present. This article is a bibliometric study with open-source tools, such as R-Studio, the biblioshiny package, and VOSviewer, to analyze the data and help visualize the network for presenting knowledge structure, characteristics, and global research trends, such as the production of annual publications, influential resources, most relevant or prolific authors, publication networks that co-citations, authors’ international collaboration, the scientific production of each country or each institution, and future trends. This study examined 1,580 articles published in international journals in the Scopus database on smart education from 1986 to 2022. The most annual scientific production will be in 2021, at 296 articles. The most relevant sources are Smart Innovation, Systems and Technologies. The most influential author is Gwo-Jen Hwang. The most cited article has 293 citations. Trend topics that began to gain attention from 2021 – the present is Artificial Intelligence, COVID-19 and Smart Education, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things in Motor Themes will be developed further and remain the dominant topics in this research field. This article summarizes an overview, knowledge structure, characteristics, and global research trends of smart education research.

Bibliometric analysis of global research trends on biomimetics, biomimicry, bionics, and bio-inspired concepts in civil engineering using the Scopus database

This paper presents a bibliometrics analysis aimed at discerning global trends in research on ‘biomimetics’, ‘biomimicry’, ‘bionics’, and ‘bio-inspired’ concepts within civil engineering, using the Scopus database. This database facilitates the assessment of interrelationships and impacts of these concepts within the civil engineering domain. The findings demonstrate a consistent growth in publications related to these areas, indicative of increasing interest and impact within the civil engineering community. Influential authors and institutions have emerged, making significant contributions to the field. The United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom are recognised as leaders in research on these concepts in civil engineering. Notably, emerging countries such as China and India have also made considerable contributions. The integration of design principles inspired by nature into civil engineering holds the potential to drive sustainable and innovative solutions for various engineering challenges. The conducted bibliometrics analysis grants perspective on the current state of scientific research on biomimetics, biomimicry, bionics, and bio-inspired concepts in the civil engineering domain, offering data to predict the evolution of each concept in the coming years. Based on the findings of this research, ‘biomimetics’ replicates biological substances, ‘biomimicry’ directly imitates designs, and ‘bionics’ mimics biological functions, while ‘bio-inspired’ concepts offer innovative ideas beyond direct imitation. Each term incorporates distinct strategies, applications, and historical contexts, shaping innovation across the field of civil engineering.
