Abstract

We conducted a needs assessment and instructional design project to deliver training to international nongovernmental organization humanitarian logistics staff in a multinational context. We describe the context, artifacts, and training tools developed through application of instructional strategies including modeling, spaced learning, scenario-based learning, simulations, and beyond blended learning modalities, of this design case. We also provide background on our critical design decisions, our application of Edmundson’s (The cultural adaptation process (CAP) model: designing e-learning for another culture. In: Edmundson A (ed) Globalized e-learning cultural challenges. Information Science Publishing, Hershey, 2007) cultural adaptation process model, and provide links to all materials, which were published under the Creative Commons license.
