Abstract

A two-goniometer system for obtaining azimuthally averaged measurements in channelling experiments is described. The system consists of a tri-axial master goniometer and a bi-axial alignment goniometer. Both goniometers are controlled by stepping motors. The design, construction and operation of the goniometers as well as stepping motor control units and programs for computer control of the goniometers are described.
