Abstract

An understanding of Chemical Bonds is essential in any modality of teaching chemistry. Thus, this work had the objective to investigate the conceptions and representations of chemical bonds that the undergraduates of the Licentiate Degree in Chemistry at IFG – Uruaçu have. For this, the discursive textual analysis method was used. The research showed that undergraduates tend to present insecure and often mistaken answers, perhaps because of the fragile education they obtained in high school and that they were not overcome during higher education. The study of this theme considered that the conceptions of chemical bonding, as well as their representations, are complex within learning in chemistry, resulting in the need for review in teacher training and a greater autonomous attitude of the undergraduate in trying to understand the concepts in the most scientific way possible.
