Abstract

This research used a survey to identify common approaches to supply chain management and to compare these approaches among regional and global business enterprises operating in the U.S. Survey respondents indicated that global enterprises tended to have a wider scope of activities in their supply chain management efforts. Statistically, our survey results showed that determining customers’ future needs, reducing supply chain response time, the use of formal information sharing, and participating in the marketing efforts of customers tended to be more important in global businesses than in regional businesses.
