Abstract

Abstract A study by digital simulation of the behaviour of correlation when scenes are degraded by noise or background has been carried out. Our analysis includes a comparison between the most common correlation filters used to improve discrimination and a non-linear joint transformer correlator in which the power spectrum has been binarized considering different threshold levels. Signal-to-noise ratio, peak sharpness and discrimination capability have been taken into account in order to assess correlation quality.
