Abstract

Multilevel inverter technology has become very important in terms of energy control. The aim of this paper is to presents a comparative study of photovoltaic (PV) based five level, seven level and nine level diode clamped inverter (DCMLI). Photovoltaic array simulation and pulse width modulation (PWM) technique for diode clamped multilevel inverter (DCMLI) is presented for different level of inverter topology. In this paper connection diagram and switching topology for the diode clamped multilevel inverter (DCMLI) is also presented. The cogancy of the model is justified through MATLAB/Simulink and the results are compared in terms of total harmonic distortion (THD).
