Abstract

Business processing systems are in a phase of remarkable transition in their functioning. Information technology, due to continuous advancements, has brought drastic transformations to almost all business functions and managerial activities. Business organisations are using innovative tools and also learning processes, such as blended learning, to achieve competitive advantage. Blended learning is an approach that combines effectiveness of the traditional learning environment with the technologically advanced learning opportunities of the electronic learning environment. It has the proven potential to increase learning outcomes. The aim of present research is to determine the effect of blended learning on managerial effectiveness. Managerial effectiveness is the extent to which a manager achieves the output requirements related to his/her position. It representsa manager's ability to accomplish desired results, by applying his skills and abilities. The paper analyses the effect of blended learning on managerial effectiveness, with reference to Indian managers of Banking and Information Technology Sectors. From the study, it was concluded that female managers working in the banking sector having an experience of <5 years were found to be more effective managers in terms of effect of blended learning on managerial effectiveness.
