Abstract
Shupe's colorimetric method for the determination of pilocarpine has been found applicable, with modifications, to the quantitative determination of pilocarpine hydrochloride and pilocarpine nitrate. A comparison of the results obtained on commercially available samples by this method with those obtained by both a micro‐Kjeldahl determination and the A. O. A. C. method indicates the suitability of this assay for the quantitative determination of pilocarpine and its salts.
