Background: Hyperadrenocorticism is a common endocrinopathy in dogs, associated to an excessive production or administration of cortisol. Aims: Report the evolution of homeopathic treatment in hyperadrenocorticism of a yorkshire male dog with 10 years old, analyzing with basal and post-acth stimulation cortisol values. Methodology: Homeopathic treatment was chosen, based on the principle of similitude and because it is efficient and less harmful for the patient using Ignatia amara associated to cortisol biotherapy to inhibit cortisol production and adrenal biotherapy to stimulate the gland response. The exposed information is consented by the tutor. Results: The dog was in convencional treatment with trilostane but didn’t response to the therapy, showing 5,41 μg/dL of basal result and 11,8 μg/dL of post-acth result and the symptoms were worst on 12/12/2021, presenting lethargic, panting, more evident alopecia and severe muscle weakness which the patient unable to stand. Therefore, the protocol was recommended for 3 months, included 3 globules of Ignatia amara 30cH orally, every 12 hours, 3 globules of cortisol biotherapy 30 cH and also of adrenal biotherapy 6 cH every 24 hours for 30 days. On 03/28/2022 the basal and post-acth stimulation results was 3,71 μg/dL e 5,79 μg/dL respectively and the patient was more active, the skin was better and even with difficulty it was moving and having more independence. Conclusion: Homeopathic treatment with high dilution proved to be effective, keeping the indices with the recommended range of post acth between 2.0 and 5.0, confirming an adequate therapeutic monitoring and symptomatic improvement.

To study the long-term ovarian neoplastic consequences of resection of a dermoid cyst. The study population comprised 99 patients who were operated on for an ovarian dermoid cyst. Follow-up information was obtained for 91 women for a mean period of 5.06 +/- 2.46 years. Of the 99 women, 18 had bilateral dermoid cysts. Multiple dermoid cysts in a single ovary were found in nine of the women with bilateral cysts and in one of the remaining patients. Two patients developed malignant germ cell tumors, and three developed a recurrent dermoid cyst in an ovary from which a dermoid cyst had previously been extracted. Bilateral or multiple ovarian dermoid cysts were present at the initial operation in four (80%) of these patients. Women with bilateral or multiple dermoid cysts may include a subgroup of patients with a greater tendency to develop future ovarian germ cell neoplasms.

Adenine phosphoribosyltransferase (APRT) deficiency is an uncommon genetic cause of chronic kidney disease due to crystalline nephropathy. A case of a Chinese boy with APRT deficiency presenting with severe acute kidney injury secondary to obstructive uropathy from multiple renal calculi was reviewed. The patient underwent staged removal of the calculi. Infrared spectrometry of the renal calculi showed 2,8-dihydroxyadenine. APRT deficiency was confirmed with abolished APRT enzyme activity in red blood cells. He was started on allopurinol and low purine diet with complete resolution of the residual calculi. APRT deficiency should be considered in patients with multiple radiolucent renal calculi.

These days, more and more people are dealing with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and stress-related ailments, which can greatly impact their overall health and happiness. Psychotherapy and medication are examples of conventional treatments; nevertheless, they are not without their drawbacks, such as the potential for side effects, the danger of dependence, and the lack of efficacy in the long run. As a holistic method of treating mental health issues, homoeopathy has recently gained popularity as a potential alternative or supplemental therapy option. Homoeopathy, which is based on the idea of personalised treatment, seeks to cure the whole person, not just the symptoms, by addressing the emotional and constitutional imbalances that cause mental health illnesses. the function of homoeopathy in the treatment of mental health disorders, with an emphasis on the efficacy, safety, and empirical data underlying its utilisation. Evidence from clinical trials, case reports, and patient outcomes suggest that some homoeopathic remedies, like Pulsatilla, Arsenicum album, Natrum muriaticum, and Ignatia amara, can aid in emotional healing, alleviate depressive and anxious symptoms, and promote better mental health in general.

A 26-year-old male was asymptomatic and active until the age of 19 years. At the age of 20 years, he underwent lithotripsy for ureteral stones. As he grew older, he experienced bone pain, recurrent bilateral shoulder dislocations, and long bone fractures following minor trauma for which he was operated. Currently, he presented with another long bone fracture following minor trauma. Investigations showed increased serum calcium (11.5 mg/dL), 24-hour urinary calcium (420 mg/24 hours; 100-300 mg/day), and intact parathyroid hormone (PTH) (1688 pg/mL; 10-55 pg/mL). Serum phosphorus was 2.0 mg/dL (2.8-4.5 mg/dL) and 25-OH vitamin D was 10 ng/mL, both of which were decreased. He had normal vitamin B12 levels, complete blood count, kidney function test, liver function test, and thyroid profile. An ultrasound of the abdomen showed multiple bilateral renal calculi and gallbladder (GB) calculus. Calcitonin and 24-hour urinary catecholamine were within the normal range. His X-rays showed multiple lytic lesions in bones, multiple renal calculi, urinary bladder calculus, and fracture shaft of left femur (Figs 1 and 2). He was diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism with osteitis fibrosa cystica. He was not willing for further investigations.

Homeopathic treatments are considered by the vast majority of the scientific community as non-effective, apart from a well-documented placebo effect. Nevertheless, some experimental results raise questions about their efficiency, and numerous practitioners still consider homeopathy as an efficient alternative treatment instead of usual pharmaceutical drugs. Homeopathy is thus nowadays debated among the general public, practitioners and medical schools, and is still used by many patients in search for “natural” treatments. It is therefore relevant to bring information to feed this debate and to investigate the efficiency and safety of homeopathic drugs. We examined on ants, used as biological models, the effects of a homeopathic drug, Ignatia amara, advocated to ease symptoms of stress. We tested the effects of thus drug on ant’s ethological and physiological traits (1) under normal condition, then (2) under a stressing situation. We found that (1) this drug was not without adverse effects but slightly impacted some ants’ traits; (2) this drug could reduce the adverse effects caused by the stressing situation. It nearly fully restored the ants’ locomotion, orientation ability, audacity, tactile perception, brood caring, social relationship, escaping behavior, cognition, and slightly the memory. No adaptation and no habituation to the effects of Ignatia amara occurred, and no dependence on its consumption developed. The causes and mechanisms of these effects remain unknown to us, but our results support the hypothesis that, in some given cases, for some specific health problems, and using adequate product(s) and dose(s), a homeopathic treatment based on Ignata amara extracts could help patients to recover from stress symptoms.

Introduction Homeopathic remedies in ultra-high dilutions (UHDs) have been used for centuries due to their proven therapeutic and biological effects [1-2]. Structural research on UHDs suggests the presence of essential original matters (EOMs) with unique formations [3]. However, a key research gap remains: Can the individualization of EOMs enhance homeopathic treatment? Can their structural characteristics be linked to therapeutic and biological effects? This study confirms the presence of EOMs in UHDs derived from blood samples, exhibiting distinct features. Objectives To analyze the structural properties of EOMs in patient blood samples before homeopathic treatment and compare them with EOMs of prescribed remedies. This study aims to identify correlations that could enable individualized remedy selection. Methodologies Blood samples were collected from four patients diagnosed with specific homeopathic constitutions (Lachesis muta, Calcarea carbonica, Ignatia amara, Staphysagria) before treatment. UHDs of each sample were prepared using standardized dilution and succussion protocols in ultrapure water. EOMs in the final solutions were analyzed via scanning electron microscopy and compared with a reference library of 100 known UHDs, including prescribed remedies. Results SEM analysis revealed distinctive filamentous or elongated structures with variations in curvature, surface texture, and integrity. A remarkable structural similarity was observed and quantified via AI image processing between patient blood UHDs and corresponding homeopathic remedies. These findings provide the first evidence that EOMs are present in UHDs of blood and exhibit unique characteristics, suggesting a potential link between UHD structures and patient-specific biological activity. Conclusion The results indicate that UHDs possess specific structural properties that may contribute to their function. The resemblance between patient-specific UHDs and prescribed homeopathic remedies highlights a potential mechanism for remedy selection. This approach could serve as a diagnostic tool for personalized homeopathic therapy while minimizing human error. Further research is necessary to validate these findings and explore clinical implications.

Verrucae (warts) are the benign epidermal proliferative lesions that occur on skin and the adjacent mucosal membrane, caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection. Filiform warts on the face are more difficult to treat. There have been various conventional methods for treatment of such warts but it has its own pros and cons. Homeopathy here plays a vital role in treating these warts permanently with help of homeopathic individualized medicines. These medicines are selected on the basis of the general characteristic and peculiar symptoms of the patient. Here in this article the effectiveness of a well selected individualized homoeopathic medicine <i>Lycopodium Clavatum</i> has been explained through a case report. A male of 30 years with multiple filiform warts on the face due to change of place and environment of his residence reported to the OPD and was prescribed Homoeopathic medicine <i>Lycopodium Clavatum 30C</i> on the basis of totality of symptom which resolved those multiple warts on his face within a month with no reappearance of similar warts. This case report with photographic evidence shows the effectiveness of<i> Lycopodium clavatum 30C</i> in cases of filiform warts. Along with these warts the complaint of constipation was also relieved which was considered while selecting the medicine. thus proving that when homoeopathic medicines are selected properly they cure the individual as a whole.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous renopuncture multi-channel nephrolithotomy via small incision in treatment of multiple renal calculi. Methods Eighty patients with multiple renal calculi treated at the department of urology at our hospital from January 2013 to January 2015 were divided into two groups according to the surgical methods. The NPCL group was treated with conventional percutaneous nephrolithotomy and the small incision group with percutaneous renopuncture multi-channel nephrolithotomy via small incision. The efficacies were observed in both groups. Results The operation time was longer, the intra-operative bleeding volume, the recurrence rate, and the incidence of postoperative complications were lower, and the removal rate of calculi was higher in the small incision group than in the NPCL group (all P<0.05) . Conclusions Percutaneous renopuncture multi-channel nephrolithotomy via small incision can increase the removal rate of calculi and decrease the incidence of postoperative complications, so it is the first choice for multiple renal calculi. Key words: Multiple renal calculi; Small incision; Renopuncture multi-channel nephrolithotomy; Efficacy; Feasibility; Safety

Objective Renal calculi are a common type of urological calculi and are associated with morbidity. This study was aimed at exploring the effect of flexible ureteroscopy and nephroscopy on stone removal in patients with multiple renal calculi. Method This randomized controlled trial included a total of 78 cases with multiple renal calculi in our hospital. The patients were randomly divided into the study and control groups and treated with flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy with pneumatic ballistics, respectively. The surgery condition, levels of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), keratocyte growth factor (KGF), renal function indices, and the incidence of complications were analyzed before and after surgery in the two groups. Result The operation time, the postoperative analgesia pump application time, one-time stone removal rate, the intraoperative blood loss, and hospital stay of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group. Postsurgery, the levels of PGE2, PGF2α, and KGF in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group. The serum levels of SCR, BUN, and NGAL in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group. In addition, the incidence complications in the study group were significantly lower. Conclusion Flexible ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy under nephroscopy were equally effective against multiple renal calculi. Flexible ureteroscopy reduced surgical trauma without affecting renal function and had a low incidence of complications.

Renal calculi are a typical urological system problem. It involves the urinary tract's crystallization process. An obstruction in the ureter can produce renal or ureteric colic, an acute and debilitating pain. It typically happens in the ureter's more constrained regions. It may also be accompanied by other symptoms like hydronephrosis, haematuria, acute pain, nausea, and vomiting. Case Summary: A case of multiple renal calculi in both kidneys with a 19mm calculus lodged at the PU (Ureteropelvic) Junction of the right kidney. The patient presented with severe cutting pain in the lumbar region in the abdomen with radiating pain from the right loin to left. The patient had pain before and after urination. After case-taking, based on the totality of symptoms and repertorization, Homoeopathic medicine, Lycopodium clavatum 200C was prescribed. That proved that Homoeopathic medicines are effective for the expulsion of renal stones.

This study aimed to determine if the homeopathic formulation based on Natrum muriaticum, Matricaria, Chamomilla, and Ignatia amara was effective for stress control in dogs in order to prevent and/or reduce the frequency of unwanted behaviors. Ten male beagle dogs were divided into two groups, with five animals per group. The control group was animals receiving 0.5 mL/day of placebo via spray in the feed for 30 consecutive days as a preventive. The treated group received 0.5 mL/day of tested drug spray in the feed for 30 consecutive days as a preventive. Behavioral tests were performed at two time points, before and after receiving the tested drug. We performed the following behavioral tests: a) persons known and unknown in the internal and external environment; b) interaction with toys; c) interaction with an unknown dog, d) test with a leash; and e) firecracker test. There was more engagement in digging and scaling the fence in the control group than in the treatment group (P < 0.05). The animals that received homeopathic medicine sat 2.54 times longer than the control (P = 0.0269). Dogs that received homeopathic showed 4.49 times more interest in general at D30 than at D1 (P = 0.0214). Animals in the treated group showed an 83% less chance of urinating than the control group in the tests involving displacements. We conclude that the preventive addition of homeopathic medicine containing Natrum muriaticum, Chamomilla, and Ignatia amara reduced undesirable behaviors related to anxiety and increased the incidence of interest behavior.
