Abstract
Objective To enhance the understanding of diseases with thickening of tracheobronchial wall and atypical tracheobronchial amyloidosis(TBA), to decrease its misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis rate. Methods A case of atypical tracheobronchial amyloidosis was shared with its specificity analysed according to the review of literature at home or abroad. Results The case of atypical TBA showed diffuse thickening of tracheobronchial wall, with no obvious abnormality under bronchoscopy, no bleeding during biopsy, no clear manifestations in HE staining, but confirmed by positive Congo red staining. No specific treatment was given to the patient due to mild symptoms.Imaging manifestations of the patient improved during short-time follow-up. Conclusions Tracheobronchial amyloidosis is a relatively rare disease of respiratory system.Tracheobronchial amyloidosis may have atypical manifestations and could be misdiagnosed, which required the vigilance of clinicians. Key words: Amyloidosis; Bronchoscopy
