Abstract

Abstract The paper presents a calculation algorithm for the heater of a Stirling engine. In the current context of the energy crisis, Stirling engines can be used to produce mechanical work from renewable energy sources. The heat exchangers are one of the key elements regarding the efficiency of a Stirling engine. So, a calculation algorithm for the heater of a Stirling engine can be used for the dimensioning of this component, according to the requirements for the functioning of the system. To validate this algorithm, a dedicated program for the calculation of the heat exchangers based on the finite element analyse was used.
