Abstract

This article offers a single-layered and single-sided fabric flexible linear-to-circular polarizer that can be utilized for GNSS/GPS applications that run at 1.57542 GHz pertaining to the L1 band. The polarizer is developed from a flexible linear-to-circular polarizer that is made from a single-sided fabric. The polarizer has a structure on its front side in the form of perpendicular rectangular strips, whereas the back side is completely devoid of any kind of structure. In the case of the wavelength in free space, the unit-cell has dimensions of 0.29λ0×0.255λ0×0.01λ0, respectively. The operational frequency focuses about 1.5754 GHz at its core., as well as the lowest possible value for the axial ratio that can be attained is 0.1 dB; near zero dB. The entire structure can bend and can be incorporated into the clothing. In comparison, the fractional bandwidth for the conversion efficiency spanning 90% is 50.55%, (1.1315–1.8971) while the fractional bandwidth for the 3 dB axial ratio is 1.2544–1.83 GHz, which results in a value of 37.32%.
