Abstract

Neck assessment following injury may at times be difficult particularly in the emergency department setting. The assessment of patients at extremes of age presents additional challenges. The biomechanical and structural alterations of the ageing spine have significant influences on the injury pattern and should be taken into account. We present (to the best of our knowledge) the first case report of a bilateral pedicle fracture at C7 following a low energy injury in a degenerative cervical spine.
