Abstract

Due to node mobility and dynamic network topology, service compositions in ad hoc networks become unreliable. Improving reliability has been a research topic in service composition and ad hoc networks, and some work has considered minimizing disruption service composition and recovery in ad hoc networks. Backup service composition is a good choice for centralized network and some work have already focused on setting up procedure of backup service composition, but little work has considered how to recovery from backup service composition other than reorganize service composition in ubiquitous computing. This paper proposes a backup restoration algorithm of service composition in ad hoc networks. The algorithm is based on the precondition of setting up backup service composition before disruption service composition. Backup service composition is only set up for services provided by unreliable nodes which are predicted. Disruption service composition can be replaced by backup service composition other than reorganizing service composition. Simulation result proves that duration of service composition can be largely decreased when our algorithm has been adopted.
