Abstract

A 64-year-old woman was evaluated in the pulmonary clinic for a 2-month history of nonproductive cough and wheezing. Her medical history was significant for fibromyalgia and giant cell arteritis that had been diagnosed 4 years prior to presentation and was treated with steroids for 1 year. There was no history of occupational exposure to asbestos, silica, radon, beryllium, or other environmental toxins. She was an ex-smoker with a 3-pack-year history and had quit smoking 40 years prior to presentation.
