Abstract

In this paper, a two-dimensional multi-beam array antenna is proposed. Simple structure and ability of two-dimensional scanning are the advantages of the proposed antenna. The beam forming network (BFN) of this paper can form nine groups of fixed phase shift to generate nine steerable beam directions. But in consideration of the symmetry of the beams, a half radiating elements reverse so that just six groups phase shift can be used. To decrease BFN influences the radiate elements and practical application, we also discuss two layers structure. Especially, among those beams there are four beams that can cove the whole azimuth plane at the 20°elevation with the relatively high gain of the port of adjacent two beam.
