Abstract

This paper presents a 200-W single phase micro- photovoltaic (micro-PV) inverter and its control strategy for grid-connected operation. The micro-PV inverter was integrated to each PV panel, accomplishing dc-dc boost and dc-ac inversion individually. Thus the overall system reliability and MPPT efficiency can be improved significantly. The circuit principle for the proposed inverter is firstly investigated in this paper. Then its grid- connected control strategy is carried out in details. The controller consists of grid current regulation of high voltage side and the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of low voltage side. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed circuit and control strategy have been demonstrated through simulation based on MATLAB/Simulink. The results provide theoretical validation and show a high potential of the proposed micro-PV inverter for practical implementation.
