Abstract

Mathematical models have been developed to study the pressure drop in CWS pipeline transportation both in laminar and turbulent flow. In addition, the laminar-turbulent transition criterion for CWS pipeline flow is proposed. The models have been successfully verified by experimental and industrial data: the f-He-Reb (Fanning friction factor-Hemstrom number-Bingham number) figure based on the mathematical model calculations can meet the demand of drag prediction in the engineering design of CWS transportation system.
