Abstract

In recent years, Tribal organizations and state entities have expressed interest in developing culturally relevant, evidence-based programs for teen pregnancy prevention. In response, as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, the state PREP provides $55.25 million per annum in formula grants to States and $3.5 million to Tribal entities for teen pregnancy prevention programming. The state program is administrated by the federal Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families through the Family and Youth Services Bureau.
