Abstract
In this chapter, some of the ground improvement techniques that are different from the conventional methods are presented. These methods (i.e. thermal stabilization, bioengineering treatment, geo-polymerization, use of lightweight materials, waste materials, nanosoils, nanoparticles, etc.) are mostly nonconventional and have not yet been fully explored. Some of these methods are quite expensive and guidelines are yet to be developed for proper implementation of these methods in field.
