Abstract
Prevention of driveline exit site (DLES) infection by attentive wound care is imperative but intrinsic differences in interface material may also influence infectious risk. In this study, we compare DLES infections and structural/ultrastructural differences between silicone and Dacron velour driveline-skin interfaces of the HeartMate II (HMII).
