Abstract
Summary No evidence could be found for the incorporation of [8- 14 C]adenine into the endogenous cytokinins of pea seeds when fed for three days using a capillary needle. The wounding did not cause any abnormal growth of the seeds within the pods. It would appear that more serious attention should be given to the hypothesis that tRNA breakdown results in cytokinin release.
