Abstract

The chapter identified the core competence from the perspective of the value chain theory and built real estate developers’ core competence evaluation system: 5 first-level indicators (human factors, organizational factors, technical factors, market factors, and social factors) and 30 secondary indicators. The intelligent evaluation model was established with support vector regression. It was used to conduct a study of a Xi’an real estate developer after verifying its accuracy, and the results showed that this company was hardly concerned about fostering its core competence and lacked innovation capability and brand strength. Accordingly, this chapter gave some recommendations for the case developer. In addition, for all the local developers, this chapter gave some specific measures about how to enhance their core competence from five perspectives, including human factors, organizational factors, technical factors, market factors, and social factors.
