Abstract

Prior studies have suggested that black patients are less likely to receive biologics compared with white patients. The objective of the study was to analyze the demographics and prescription rates of systemic medications. We conducted a review of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center claims database from the Jan 1, 2010–Dec 31, 2021 for patients that had ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes for psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis. The total number of patients with the diagnosis of psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis was 9,406 patients (male 49.7%; female 50.3%) with an average age of 52.5.
