Abstract
Adolescent relationship abuse (ARA) is prevalent among adolescents who utilize clinical services, thus clinics serving adolescents are important sites for ARA identification and intervention as well as for promotion of healthy relationships. The “Hanging Out or Hooking Up” guidelines were developed to support health care providers (HCPs) to promote discussion of healthy relationships and to identify and respond to relationship abuse among their adolescent patients. This evaluation assessed HCP attitudes and behaviors as well as client knowledge, attitudes and behaviors before and after their clinic encounter with a trained HCP.
