Abstract

A 60 GHz dual-polarized phased array antenna using copper ball interconnection is proposed. In this structure, two substrates are vertically connected by copper ball. The top substrate is the dual-polarized array antenna and the bottom substrate is the feeding line. In order to achieve high antenna gain, we examined the effect of directivity synthesis of dual polarized array antenna. The simulation result show 10 dBi beam scanning coverage area of 360° in ϕ and 40_70° in θ • • However, only five of the eight fabricated antennas operated due to implementation failure. Thus, the measurement result show that 10 dBi beam coverage area of 360° in ϕ and 25−60° in θ.
