Abstract
This chapter mainly discusses reversible cross-linking polymer-based self-healing materials, which will help to eliminate hidden hazards, prolong the service life, and extend the application area of polymeric materials. The chapter first reviews automatically self-healing polymers with embedded microencapsulated healing agents. The chapter then discusses cross-linked healable polymeric materials based on reversible noncovalent bonds, including hydrogen bonds, π–π stacking interaction, and metal–ligand coordination. Finally, the chapter reviews cross-linked healable polymeric materials containing reversible covalent bonds (Diels–Alder adducts).
