Abstract

In recent years, many studies on seismic resistance or base isolation of buildings have been conducted. So hospitals are designed as an earthquake-resistant structure. But few studies are conducted about medical equipments and devices. Many types of medical equipments have casters for easy movement. In this research, numerical model of the caster wagon is proposed for seismic analysis. And experiments using small single axis shaking table and four-story structure imitated a real hospital are conducted. Response accelerations of the wagon showed good agreements in simulation and experiment, so the validity of the proposed model is confirmed.
