Abstract

For Asian patients, the subpectoral dual plane breast augmentation is preferred because of less risk of capsular contraction and more optimal results primarily on the upper pole of the breast in thin patients. For incision selection, there are two domain choices in the Asian population: inframammary fold (IMF) and axillary incision. Asian women prefer an axillary approach because of the Asian cultural background and special ethnic skin characteristics. For IMF incision breast augmentation, redefining the new IMF and hiding the IMF incision scar precisely in the new IMF is the critical factor for satisfactory outcomes. For axillary incisions, with the help of endoscopy and by understanding the relevant anatomy, an excellent result can be achieved with no scar on the breast. Both IMF and endoscopy-assistant axillary approach are suitable techniques that can deliver safe, stable, predictable, and satisfactory results.
