Preface The 4th International Conference on Green Environmental Engineering and Technology (IConGEET 2022) was a hybrid conference and physically took place in Seoul, Korea on 17-18th November 2022. IConGEET2022 was jointly organised with the 4th International Conference on Green Engineering and Technology (IConGeTech2022). The conference was organized by the Sustainable Environmental Research Group (SERG), Centre of Excellence Geopolymer and Green Technology (CEGeoGTech), Universiti Malaysia Perlis. The conference received international and local collaboration, support and participation from the National Institute for Research and Development in Environmental Protection (INCDPM) Romania, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam as well as local universities in Malaysia.It brought together researchers, practitioners, engineers and students worldwide in hope to extend networking, integrate knowledge and exchange ideas among participants. This year, the theme “Driven Technologies toward Sustainable Environment” is driving exciting breakthroughs to help sustaining our planet. Overcoming the engineering challenges of high performance, interoperability and security is critical to delivering next-generation solutions for decreasing emissions, minimizing waste and preventing pollution. Over 70 distinguish researchers, practitioners, engineers and students from across the country have presented their current and intriguing research in the scope of civil and environmental technologies and management, which evolved around five major areas: water and wastewater technology, green technology, air pollution and climate change, environmental management and protection as well as environmental sustainability and development.The conference has gained incredible success due to collective efforts from the organizing committees, the co-organizers, the reviewers, presenters, and all participants. We would like to thank all the reviewers involved in ensuring each contributed paper were refereed and accepted based on interests, relevance, innovation and pure contribution towards environmental engineering and technology fields. Putting together, the success of the conference is a team effort. I am grateful to all the committee members who worked very hard to make this event a successful one. Over 70 distinguish researchers, practitioners, engineers and students from across the country have presented their current and intriguing research in the scope of civil and environmental engineering and technology, which evolved around six major areas: water protection, water resources and hydrology, technologies for water management, energy and water, air and noise and sustainable materials.The conference has gained tremendous success due to collective efforts from the organizing committees, the co-organizers, the reviewers, presenters, and all participants. Special acknowledgment goes to the keynote speakers who assent our invitation and successfully delivered interesting talks to catch all the participants’ attention. The keynote speeches were delivered by Professor Dr. Kun Guo from the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University China with the topic “Microbial electrochemical technology for energy and resource recovery from wastewater” and Professor Ar. It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) present the proceedings of The 6th International Conference on Civil and Environmental Engineering (CENVIRON) 2023, hosted in conjunction with The Global Trends in Engineering, Science & Technology Congress 2023 (GTEST2023). This edition’s theme, “Enhancing Liveability and Sustainability through Green Technology,” highlights our dedication to investigating cutting-edge solutions that promote a more liveable and sustainable society. The hybrid conference, held on September 4 – 5th, 2023, at the Sabah Room, World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, gathered academicians, researchers, and practitioners from around the world together. We honourably welcome our keynote and invited speakers Associate Professor Dr. Filippo Giustozzi, RMIT University, Australia and Professor Dr. Sumate Chaiprapat, Prince of Songkla University, Thailand.CENVIRON’s principal goal is to provide an effective forum for the sharing of knowledge, research findings, and technology breakthrough. This conference is critical in encouraging collaboration and creativity within the community as we traverse the ever-changing landscape of sustainability in civil and environmental engineering subjects aligned to SDG 6, 11, 12 and 17. On September 5, 2023, we expanded our reach to the Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library, Universiti Malaysia Perlis Main Campus, Perlis, Malaysia, in addition to the World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This dual-location strategy sought to increase participant accessibility and participation. The conference used a hybrid strategy that included both physical and online sessions. The 11 attendees in person had a rich programme with two parallel sessions, while the 53 participants who joined remotely via the Google Meet platform had nine parallel sessions. Each presentation, including the Q&A, was allotted 20 minutes, guaranteeing a lively and participatory atmosphere.Participants, both actual and virtual, contributed enthusiastically to the various sessions hosted on the Google Meet platform. The chairpersons’ and co-hosts’ joint efforts over nine various links facilitated smooth sessions and vibrant debates. We urge you to explore the wealth of knowledge offered in these proceedings, which demonstrates the community’s dedication to furthering Earth and Environmental Science. The initial purpose of the conference is to gather researchers, academia and industries in a platform to exchange views, share ideas and discuss current researches in the field of civil and environmental engineering. This include current research and development especially in the advancement of various scope related fundamentals and applications. This conference is expected to spur a fruitful debate and discussion, scientifically bring fresh ideas and at the same time, create a networking opportunity and strong collaboration between the participants.Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, unfortunately, we have reached an agreement to opt for a virtual conference instead of the planned physical conference in the metropolitan city of Penang, Malaysia. Since the pandemic in Malaysia is still unstable and shows no sign of settling soon, and no mass gathering is allowed, this would be the best choice as to put everyone’s health a priority. Despite that, our team has managed to meet regularly via face to face discussions and virtual meetings, in order to ensure the quality of the conference and manuscript is not compromised.The conference was officiated on 9th December 2021 by the UniMAP’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Zaliman Sauli at Auditorium of UniMAP Chancellory Building with minimal physical attendees among the conference organizing committee member to allow for social distancing, and with more than 60 attendees following through Google meet platform. The opening ceremony was broadcasted live via UniMAP’s official Facebook page.Two esteemed keynote speakers were invited for the plenary sessions, i.e., Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang (Secretary General, Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia) and the Dato’ Ir. Haji Mohamad Zulkefly Sulaiman (Director General, Public Work Department Malaysia).The online parallel sessions were successfully organised at Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) using Google Meet platform. Researchers, academicians and students are among the viewers of the virtual conference. The parallel sessions were conducted according to the theme of publication. Details of the presentation schedule were included in the upcoming section. Each parallel session was chaired by an academician in the related field of Civil and Environmental Engineering to ensure smooth and lively discussions. Each session took about 15 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of Q&A. Overall, 70 papers were accepted for CENVIRON2021 after rigorous peer review process.In summary, the success of the conference is a team effort. I am grateful to all the committee members who worked very hard to make this event a successful one. We would also like to thank all the authors who submitted their papers to the conference, and the reviewers who contributed to the review process, ensuring quality publication of the conference proceedings. 4th International Symposium on Green and Sustainable Technology (ISGST 2021) The 4th International Symposium on Green and Sustainable Technology (ISGST 2012) continues a series of events that started 2014. The conference is organized by the Centre of Environment and Green Technology (CEGT), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia.Green and sustainable consumption and production of resources including its research and sustainable practices are real issues affecting communities globally. Therefore, this symposium is aimed at providing a common forum for researchers, scientists, engineers, industrialists and practitioners to present their latest research findings and ideas on the development and application of green and sustainable technology. Keeping this in mind, this symposium focused on the following themes, i.e. Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency, Environmental Technology, Green Materials and Sustainable Development, Smart Manufacturing and Intelligence System.The summary captures a four-day program of presentations, panel discussions and interactive discussions at the 4th International Symposium on Green and Sustainable Technology (ISGST 2012) which took place from 3rd - 6th October 2021. The Conference on Sustainable Energy, Environment and Green Technologies (ICSEEGT 2021) organized by the department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering along with Applied Sciences, Poornima College of Engineering, Jaipur, India was the first International Conference on this theme. We are happy to that we could organize it with the publication support of SCOPUS indexed IOP Conference series Earth and Environmental Engineering. The objective of this conference was to bring together researchers from academia, government agencies, research laboratories and the corporate sector to present their research works carried out in sustainable energy, environment and green technologies.Initially the conference was planned in offline mode. Due to Covid-19 pandemic outbreak and worldwide lockdown, organizers were having difficulties conducting in offline mode. It was difficult for the keynote speakers and participants to reach the location of a conference in such a pandemic situation. Further, the predictions during on Covid-19 pandemic indicated that the influence will be for a long time and the long distance interactions through digital mode would be the best way in that condition. Considering all these situations and an enthusiastic response by the authors for the participation in online mode, organizers decided to conduct this conference in virtual mode instead of postponed. The conference was conducted through zoom and google meet platforms. The feedback of participants and appreciations during the feedback session clearly indicated that it was organized in a well-planned way.The Conference began with its Inaugural Session seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati. The session witnessed addresses of dignified persons, Dr. Damir Brdanovic, Professor of Sanitary Engineering IHE Delft for Water Education, The Netherlands who was the Chief Guest of the programme, (Guest of Honor) Mr. Sunil Rajavaram, Senior Global WASH Advisor, The Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology, Calgary, Albreta, Canada and (Guest of Honor) Dr. L.M. Das, Former Professor, Indian institute of Technology, Delhi, India.The Inaugural session was followed by a Keynote session of Dr. Damir Brdanovic, on the topic, “From Idea to Innovation: The Shit Killer”. Two technical sessions were also organized on the first day where authors and participants from various universities around the world participated and presented their papers. Overall, 122 papers were received for ICSEEGT 2021 from various organizations all over the world, out of which 42 papers were selected for presentation by our expert team of Reviewers. The research papers from various participants were divided into three tracks viz. Sustainable Energy, Environment and Green Technologies. The presenters and attendees participated with full enthusiasm during the entire sessions. 22 papers were accepted and presented in the technical sessions on the first day. The sessions were chaired by Dr. Salifu Tahiru Azeko, Tamale Technical University, Ghana, Dr. T.N. Verma, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal’. Dr. Payal Bansal, and Mr. Vikas Sharma, PCE were the moderators for the session.The day came to an end with another keynote session on “Advances in Materials for Green Energy Storage Technologies” by Prof. M.V. Reddy, Institute of Research Hydro-Quebec, Centre of Excellence in Transportation Electrification and Energy Storage (CETEES), Hydro Quebec, Canada.On the second day of the International Conference, ICSEEGT 2021, two more technical sessions were organized where about 20 more accepted papers were presented. The sessions were chaired by Dr. Pankaj Gupta, MNIT, Jaipur, and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Gautam, National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya. Dr. Payal Bansal, and Mr. Vikas Sharma, PCE were the moderators for the session. Two keynote sessions, One on the title, “Green Technology, Innovative Nano-materials and Eco Sustainability” by Dr. Alka Sharma, Centre for Advanced Studies, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and another on the title, “Green Energy Technologies for Sustainable Development” by Dr. K.S. Reddy, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras were also organized on the second day of the conference. On the contrary, the event turned out to be a great success with addresses and sessions of learned persons, wholehearted participation from all our authors, co-authors, attendees, and an expert team of reviewers, coordinators, staff members, organizers and last but not the least, the most powerful pillars of ICSEEGT 2021, the Management.List of Steering Committee, Organizing Committee, Advisory Committee, Technical Program Committee, Reviewer(s) and this titles are available in this pdf.

Socialization of Renewable Energy Utilization and Book Grants to Universiti Malaysia Perlis

The use of renewable energy is increasingly important to meet energy needs and reduce the negative impacts of fossil fuel use. Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) plays an active role in the socialization of renewable energy through educational programs and grants of related books aimed at increasing public understanding of the benefits of sustainable energy. Collaboration with Universitas Medan Area and Al-Azhar University will expand the reach of this socialization and enable the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the field of renewable energy. These books cover a variety of topics on renewable energy and green technology, and will be distributed in seminars and workshops involving academics and local communities from the three institutions. With this effort, it is hoped that awareness of the importance of the transition to clean energy will increase, encourage sustainable practices, and strengthen research in the field of renewable energy at UniMAP and partner institutions, making it a model for other institutions in promoting sustainable practices in the community.

Initially, the focus of the conference is to gather researchers, academia and industry together to share and discuss current researches in the field of environmental engineering towards green and sustainable technologies. The aim of this conference is to provide platform for knowledge sharing and interchange among researchers, academicians and industrial expertise. This includes current research and development especially in the furtherance of environmental engineering and technologies. I believed that this conference will lead to a broad discussion, generate new ideas scientifically and at the same time will create a strong collaboration among the participants.Due to the pandemic COVID19, unfortunately, we have to settle with virtual meeting instead of gathering in Seoul, Korea. Our team decided to proceed with online conference due to the targeted publications of this conference was already schedule to be published in 2020. Furthermore, the participants requested for online conference since there was no sign of these pandemic will settle soon.This virtual conference was successfully conducted on 23rd July 2020 hosted in Seminar Room, School of Material Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis. Overall, 91 paperworks were accepted and these include participation of researchers from Romania, Indonesia and Malaysia. This virtual conference was hosted using Google Meet. During the Planetary Sharing Session, around 190 viewers including participants, students and researchers from other universities from Indonesia, Algeria and Malaysia had joined the session. Three keynotes addressed their expertise in sustainable materials, air pollutions and statistical modelling (as given in the conference schedule). The parallel sessions were conducted according to the theme of publication. The details of presentation schedule were included in the later section. Each session took about 15 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of Q&A session.Putting together, the success of the conference is a team effort. I am grateful to all the committee members who worked very hard to make this event a successful one. Even tough, we faced a short duration of technical issues (loss of internet connection) during the first keynote session, the fast and effective actions of our technical team solve the problem, hence, the overall conference time frame was still running according to the schedule.We would also like to thank all the authors who submitted their papers to the conference, and all the participants who helped in accomplishing the goals of the conference. The 7th International Conference on Civil and Environmental Engineering (CENVIRON 2024) was successfully held on September 2-3, 2024, at Bertam Resort & Water Park, Penang, Malaysia. Organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), the conference provided a hybrid platform for physical and virtual participation, enabling an inclusive exchange of knowledge and fostering collaboration among researchers, academics, and industry professionals. Under the theme “Environmental Innovation: Shaping a Cleaner Tomorrow,” CENVIRON 2024 focused on critical topics aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15: Life on Land. These topics, sustainable energy systems, green transportation, geotechnical engineering, waste management, and advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies, highlight the global commitment to addressing environmental challenges while advancing sustainable development. We were privileged to host a diverse group of participants, including researchers from Malaysia and abroad, particularly from Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia, the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia, and the National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM). The 7th International Conference on Man Machine Systems (ICoMMS) 2021 was held virtually on 19-20 October 2021 due to the travel restrictions imposed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. ICoMMS 2021 was organized by the Mechatronic Engineering Programme, Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis.ICoMMS 2021 aims to provide opportunities for all participants to exchange new innovative ideas and application experiences as well as to provide a platform where possible innovators can think of new ventures, generate contacts and networks for future collaboration, specifically in the domain of Man-Machine Systems. The conference tracks include Man-Machine Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Applications, Internet of Everything, Signal and Circuits Systems, and Industrial Design and Automation. With the theme of ‘Man-Machine Systems as Catalyst for Future Solutions’, ICoMMS 2021 has received more than 80 papers from all around the world and after a rigorous peer-review process, only 76 papers were accepted.On behalf of the conference organizers, we would like to thank the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Technology and Universiti Malaysia Perlis for the continuous support. Our gratitude also goes to all reviewers for their time and effort in reviewing the papers. Their feedbacks to the authors have been excellent and useful to ensure high quality papers for the conference. Annual International Conference (AIC) is hosted regularly by Institute of Research and CommunityServices (LPPM), Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh, Indonesia since 2011. Unfortunately, in 2020, the 10th AIC was held in virtual format through Zoom platform due to travel restrictions as an implication of global pandemic COVID-19. This conference was held in conjunction with the 12th IMT-GT UNINET Biosciences International Conference on 15-16 October 2020.All papers in this conference were submitted and double-blind reviewed by two independent reviewers through the Open Conference System (OCS) platform. In total, the committee has received 48 full papers, but there were only 38 papers accepted for presentation and publication. All presenters from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Nigeria, and Sri Lanka were enthusiastic in attending the two-days conference so they could share their research findings internationally as well as providing their research output for their research funding.Under the theme of “Connecting the world through innovation and sustainable development”, the keynote speeches were delivered by Prof. Ian Singleton from Edinburgh Napier University, UK and Prof. Dr. Uda Bin Hashim from Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia in the first day. While Prof. Benoit Dayrat from Pennsylvania State University, USA; Assoc. Prof. Hiroshi Miyake from Kitasato University, Japan; Prof. Dato’ Dr. Aileen Tan Shau Hwai from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia; and Assoc. Prof. Anchana Prathep from Prince Songkla University, Thailand gave their talks in the second day. The invited speech was delivered by Prof. Mohammad Basyuni, Ph.D from Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia in the first day. Each keynote/invited speaker was given 30 minutes where the time was adapted with their origin time followed by questions and answers (Q&A) session.The opening ceremony, plenary session of the keynote and invited speakers, and the closing ceremony were held in the main room which was operated by Host. Presentation from the authors was conducted in two parallel sessions in seven breakout rooms where each breakout room had one co-host, one moderator, one oral presenter jury, and one organizing committee staff. Each presenter was allocated 15 minutes for oral presentation and Q&A. All sessions in this virtual conference were presented by Zoom. The links including username and ID meeting as well as breakout room code/name were sent to the corresponding author as soon as the author submitted the camera-ready manuscript. Five rooms in the UPT TIK Building, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh, Indonesia were also prepared for hosts, co-host, and moderators. These rooms were equipped with a set of mobile camera, headset, laptop, and LCD TV Display Monitor.The meeting by Zoom platform was operated by two methods where the host/co-host need to admit theparticipants so they can join either the main room or the breakout room or the participants can freely move in and out between the rooms. This conference implemented the first method in the first day and the second method in the second day. Each participant labelled their name with the breakout room code/name to simplify the work of host/co-host so the conference could run smoothly. Changing of sessions was also announced by MC and moderator as well as posted in the screen announcement.My sincere gratitude goes to Rector, Vice Rector, and Head of LPPM, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia for financial support and contribution. The 5th International Conference on Emerging Electrical Energy, Electronics and Computing Technologies 2024 (ICE4CT 2024) held on 2-3 December 2024 were jointly organized by Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia, Sengunthar Engineering College, India and Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy (CERE), Universiti Malaysia Perlis. Malaysia. It serves as a fantastic platform and opportunity for the academicians and researchers from various universities to share their knowledge and experiences at the international level. The physical sessions including inaugural ceremony, keynote address and technical paper presentation sessions were conducted on 2nd December 2024 and online technical paper presentation sessions and closing ceremony were conducted on 3rd December 2024 in online meeting platform. ICE4CT focuses on a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies across several key fields, including Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Renewable Energy, Control Systems, Intelligent Systems, Robotics, Communication Systems, and Mechanical, Mechatronic, and Marine Engineering. With the theme “Exploring the Frontiers of Emerging Technologies,” this conference aims to showcase innovative solutions, novel approaches, and new directions that are shaping the future of these industries. The International Conference on Electronic and Advanced Materials (ICEAM) 2021 was held online on the 2nd November 2021 streaming from Digital Management and Development Centre, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). This conference was organized by the Center of Excellence Geopolymer & Green Technology (CEGeoGTech), UniMAP, with Tin Solder Technology Research Group (TSTRG) MALAYSIA and The Electronics Packaging Research Society (EPRS) as co-organizer. The conference was also sponsored by the Tin Industry (R&D) Board. The conference was held virtually in order to follow the standard operation procedure imposed by the Malaysian government due to the COVID-19 movement control order and travel restriction.The conference serves as the best platform for sharing and exchanging ideas on Advanced Materials topics such as electronic materials, ceramic materials and geopolymer, bio-materials, polymers and rubber, and composites. The International Conference on Man Machine Systems (ICoMMS) 2023 was held in hybrid on the 4-5 September 2023. The conference was organized physically at The World Trade Centre (WTC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in conjunction with the Global Trends in Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (GTEST 2023) as well as virtually via online platform. This is to allow others who still facing travelling restrictions to join and participate in the conference. ICoMMS 2023 is the 8th edition of the conference organized by the Mechatronic Engineering Programme, Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, with the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Sensor Technology (CEASTech), Universiti Malaysia Perlis, in collaboration with Technische Hochschule (TH) Koeln, Germany.ICoMMS 2023 aims to provide all participants, both presenters as well as the attendees, a platform to exchange new information, ideas and applications specifically in the domain of Man-Machine Systems. The conference tracks or topics are including, but not limited to, Man-Machine Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Applications, Internet of Everything, Signal and Circuits Systems, and Industrial Design and Automation.
