Abstract

Review of the psychiatry literature showed that inpatient adolescents with sexual and physical abuse histories are at increased risk for nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI). Mood disorders are also shown to be associated with future legal problems and NSSI. The study’s objective is to explore the likelihood of developing legal issues and NSSI in inpatient youth with Child Protective Services Involvement (CPSI), PTSD, or both.
