Abstract

Among heart transplantation (HT) patients, pre-HT pulmonary hypertension (PH), is an independent predictor of mortality. Treatment options are limited. Perioperative administration of sildenafil may prevent right ventricular failure in HT recipients with persistent PH after HT. Aim: To evaluate the effects of chronic sildenafil use on right ventricle systolic pressure (RVSP) and the safety of this therapy.
