Abstract
Piezoelectric vibratory gyroscopes are used as an angular speed sensor in the electric device for automotive safety systems. It is necessary for the design of the piezoelectric bimorph beam gyroscope to understand a detailed electro-mechanical behavior of the gyroscope. In this study the response of the vibrating bimorph beam is analyzed by applying an elementary theory of bending using the linear piezoelectric equations. The vibration amplitude of the beam excited by piezoeleictric driver and that due to Colioris force are experimentally measured. The analytical results of the response are in agreement with the experimental results.
